    The building schedule opens the valve before anyone arrives, so 214 is at 72°F by eight.

    The room fills. ARC holds 72°F, modulating the valve rather than cycling it open and shut.

    The room empties

    Occupancy drops away. ARC sets back to 65°F and reads the next scheduled use: 1:00 pm.

The same weekday drawn against the clock. The valve opens at half past six and the room is at 72 degrees by eight, an hour before it fills. The room is used until twenty to twelve, when the valve shuts and the room drifts down about two degrees over the empty hour. The valve reopens at ten to one, in time for the room to be back at 72 when the door opens, and holds until the building closes at six. Overnight the room falls the whole way to its 65 degree setback. The valve is open for about ten of the eighteen hours drawn and shut for the other eight.

One loop, per room

Each ARC watches its own room rather than waiting for a floor-wide rule, and someone walking into a set-back room reopens the valve within a minute. Above the room sits the building calendar you write by wing, floor or room: warm-up, setback, weekends and holidays. A setback lowers the target rather than switching the radiator off, and the climb back is timed off the room's own measured recovery.
